A staff member at a bar on Pattaya Soi 6 has confirmed that they just had the normal flu not COVID – 19 as in rumors spread over social media during the past few days.
The Pattaya PR office has reported that they have asked the beer bar staff member and it has been confirmed that they had already been checked at Chulalongkorn Hospital for COVID – 19.
The result shows that they only had the normal flu not COVID – 19. The staff member has now recovered from the normal flu. Chulalongkorn Hospital Administration confirmed the person was negative for the novel Coronavirus to Pattaya City officials.
Anyone who knows any suspected cases or any person who didn’t quarantine themselves can report the case at the Bang Lamung Public Health Office 038-221925 in working hours.
Thai government officials also reminded both citizens and foreigners that spreading false rumors online about the virus is considered a significant offense and violating this can result in arrests and significant fines and prison time.
City Officials have been spraying disinfectant town-wide over the past few days, including Soi 6, as a preventative measure and to reassure Thais and foreigners that they are taking the situation seriously and there are no cases of COVID-19 in Pattaya.
