Israeli man caught carrying firearm and ammunition walking in Pattaya

Pattaya-

A 43 year old Israeli man, named only as John by the police, was arrested in the parking garage of a local condominium after a tip from a concerned citizen by the Narcotics Suppression Bureau this week.

The man was carrying a 22 revolver of a North American brand and five rounds of ammunition. The man at first claimed he was legally allowed to carry the weapon, according to law enforcement sources, which turned out to be incorrect.

The arresting officers brought the man to his home in Jomtien where they found his Thai wife and another firearm. She had a legal license for the weapons, however that doesn’t allow or include the foreign national to carry a weapon while walking around Pattaya. It also did not include a concealed license or license to carry in a public area.

He was arrested and was taken to the Pattaya Police station for further investigation. He did not answer specific questions as to why he would need to carry a firearm with ammunition while walking around Pattaya.
