Man found with loaded gun and ammo after traffic accident in Pattaya

Pattaya –
A pickup truck driver was found carrying a loaded gun and ammo after an accident with a motorbike in Pattaya on Thursday night.

The Pattaya City Police was notified of the accident at 11:30PM on Sukhumwit Road near Soi Thep Prasit.

Police, emergency responders and The Pattaya News arrived at the scene to find the damaged pickup truck.

The driver was a 35 year old Thai man, Nikhom Homhuan, who is a local mahout (An elephant trainer).

Nearby, rescue workers found a damaged motorbike. The driver, 16 year old Mr. Channarong Tatprakong, had sustained moderate injuries. He was taken to a local hospital.

Witnesses on the scene told Pattaya police that the pickup truck had crashed in to the motorbike and caused the accident.

Police found that the pickup truck driver was carrying a working custom handgun and 14 bullets. The driver, Mr. Nikhom, was arrested.

Pattaya Police are continuing their investigation for further legal action and reviewing CCTV at the scene. Their initial report states that the driver did not have a proper license for the firearm.
