Functioning grenade found by land surveyor in field in Chonburi, Thailand

Chonburi-

Police were called to an area next to a field in Bo Win, Chonburi after a man doing a land survey came across a hand grenade lying in a field.

Mr. Ritthiphop, 38, thought it was a toy at first but it soon dawned on him that it was real. He immediately called for police assistance.

Police put a tire around the grenade and called a bomb disposal team to the site of the incident.

The disposal team determined it was capable of being used and said it was an SHG 82 from Singapore.

The grenade was safely defused and removed from the field by the bomb disposal team. Investigators are looking into how the dangerous device came to be left in the vacant lot.
