A windsurfer has discovered a body of an unknown person floating near Jomtien beach.
Captain Sombat Kaewmoonmuk of the Pattaya City Police was notified of the body at 4:00PM today off the beach near Jomtien Soi 17.
Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene to find a body of a man aged around 30 to 40 years old. His nationality was not clear and he was found wearing only yellow swimming trunks.
Police believed that the man died at least two to three days before his body was found.
Staff from the Pattaya City Law enforcement said they were notified from a windsurfer that the body was found floating near the beach.
His remains were being kept at a local hospital. However police have yet to identify the body. They are searching records of missing people locally to identify the man. His cause of death is not clear at this time, police added.
