Large water monitor caught after eating chickens in Sri Racha

Sri Racha –
A large water monitor has been caught after eating a local villagers chickens in Sri Racha yesterday afternoon, December 18th, 2019.

Rescue workers were notified of the water monitors presence yesterday afternoon at a house in Bueang sub-district.

The water monitor was caught coming out from a chicken farm after causing a panic by attacking and eating several chickens. The water monitor weighed nearly 20 kilograms and it took rescue workers nearly thirty minutes to properly catch and secure the giant lizard.

It will be released back to a forest, rescue workers told the local media.
