Election Commission rules that Future Forward Party should be dissolved, moves to Constitutional Court Next.

The Election Commission (EC) today resolved by a majority to ask the Constitutional Court to dissolve the Future Forward party for receiving a 191.2 million baht loan from party leader Thanathorn Juangroongruantkit in violation of the Political Party Act.

The EC ruled after having considered the findings of the party registrar, according to the press release from the EC’s Office.

Section 66 of the Political Party Act prohibits an individual from donating more than 10 million baht to a political party.  Section 72 prohibits political parties and executives of the parties from receiving cash, property or other vested interests in the knowledge that that the cash, property or vested interests are being wrongfully acquired.
