A karaoke lounge raid last night uncovered underage Laotian prostitutes in Sri Racha.
A team of officials from the Department of Provincial Administration last night raided a karaoke lounge in Sri Racha based on a tip from a concerned citizen
Officers uncovered two underage Laotian prostitutes. One of them told the Thai Media she had been persuaded by a friend who had worked there to come work.
She claimed that at first she thought that she was going to work as a waitress. She later discovered that she was going to be working as a prostitute.
A 22 year old Thai woman, Ms. Wachiraphon Wachirachainan, who is the karaoke owner, has been arrested. She has been charged with human trafficking and operating an entertainment venue without a permit or license.
Police and organizations devoted to help stop sex trafficking are working with the two underage girls to help get them back to Laos safely.
