Three people arrested after exchanging 1.2 million baht of fake US dollars in Pattaya

Three Thai suspects have been arrested yesterday after exchanging fake US dollar bank notes for 1.2 million baht in Pattaya.

The arrest was led by the Tourist Police Commander Lieutenant General Chettha Komonwattana and Major Nantapat Thepprasit of the Pattaya City Police.

Three Thai suspects were arrested, who are 37 year old Ms. Kwanruethai Jutakanon, 37 year old Mr. Sangwan Sukan and 55 year old Mr. Tanakrit Paenoi.

Police have seized 398 counterfeit 100 US dollar bank notes.

Lieutenant General Chettha said the arrest follows after Pattaya City Police were notified on Thursday of last week by a tip off.

Two Thai suspects exchanged 398 fake 100 US dollar bank notes at an exchange booth on Pattaya Sai 2 Road Thursday of last week.

They got about 1,200,000 baht from the exchange. Police have continued their investigation where they then arrested those two suspects. Another suspect had been arrested in Bangkok.
