A group of tourists were shocked to find a Thai woman, believed to be in her fifties, deceased on Jomtien Beach yesterday afternoon.
She was found across from Soi 4 in Jomtien and had been dead for several hours according to police and lifeguards who came to the scene.
Local lifeguards stated the lady was homeless and a regular sight in the area, collecting trash and sleeping on the beach but not causing harm or problems to anyone.
The cause of death is under investigation but officials say there is no sign of foul play and may have been natural causes.
