Pattaya is ready for the upcoming Loy Krathong festivities on Monday, November 11. This year, Pattaya is hosting multiple free major concerts by popular Thai artists such as Carabao and Labanoon.
There will be three big stages for performances in Central Pattaya, Naklua and Jomtien beach. Additionally they will be expanding road closures and traffic control this year. We will provide additional information on this as the day gets closer and traffic flow maps are released.
People are being warned over dangerous use of fireworks, firecrackers and floating sky lanterns. All three activities are strictly banned in Pattaya and carry high fines and potential jail time if one is caught doing so.
Officers will be ensuring safety and making sure tourists are protected during the festivities. Hundreds of officers are expected to be patrolling Pattaya Beach as thousands of tourists, both domestic and foreign, are expected.
Officials are encouraging use of only biodegradable krathongs to be floated on the water and not stryofoam or plastic as well to protect the environment. Beach Road will be turned into a mini market with dozens of Krathong vendors and food vendors celebrating the festival and selling unique goods.
