Pattaya –
Some parts of traffic near Phra Tamnak Hill are being changed as more underground cables are being constructed.
The manager of the project, Mr. Tanu Surachailikkawit told The Pattaya News “From today until November 1 additional construction is being worked near the Bali Hai Pier. Barriers and road signs are being used on the road.”
“The construction is being done 24 hours from Monday to Thursday. There will be no construction on weekends and holidays.”
“The underground cable construction for phase 1 on Sukhumwit Road, Pattaya Sai 3 Road and Central Pattaya is scheduled to finish in the middle of next year.” He added.
The original plan for the projects to be finished by February of 2020 looks to have been a generous projection. Roughly one week ago there was a temporary hold on road construction projects due to several accidents and traffic concerns.
Barriers, lighting and more signs were built on local road construction after multiple accidents in the past several months injuring people driving into construction pits and road barriers.
Additionally, construction is likely to start for public water pipe infrastructure work soon in Pattaya.
The work being done on Beach Road for drainage work and to prevent flooding is still months away from completion as well.
City officials have stated that the budget has to be spent for these projects and that the temporary discomfort and inconvenience traffic wise of the amount of construction will be outweighed by the long term benefits of the work being done.
