Investigate launched over bus driver arguing with suspected illegal tour guides in Pattaya

Pattaya –
An investigation was launched after a video clip of a tour bus driver arguing with suspected illegal tour guides in Pattaya has gone viral on social media.

The video clip shows that the tour bus was carrying Chinese tourists. The driver asked the tour guides where they want to go next. The tour guides can’t conclude where they want to go and appeared not to know their subject matter. The driver became verbally angry.

The day before when they arrived at Sri Racha Tiger Zoo, the tour guides asked the driver to go to another place. The tour guides left the driver waiting for a long time. The driver stated that the guides are not legally able to do the job and turned the information over to the local tourist police.

The Tourist Police Commander Lt Gen Chetta Komonwatta said they are investigating the incident. Police are also continuing the crackdown on illegal tour guides.

In Thailand, a tour guide is a protected profession only for a Thai national and prohibited for foreigners. No work permit is available for this job legally.
