Fake grenade found dumped on Chonburi roadside

Chonburi –
Police were called to a street in Mueang Chonburi this morning after a fake grenade was found dumped on a local roadside.

Capt Pairot Soijet of Mueang Chonburi Police was informed by a local resident that a grenade was found at 9AM. Several residents were standing a ways away from the grenade in fear as officials arrived at the scene.

Police took photos of the grenade and sent to the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
They reported that it was actually a customized lighter and not a grenade.

Locals said teenagers had dumped a live grenade before and two tractors were damaged from the explosion. They stated to the press they believed this was a prank from the same teenagers.

Police noted that if any suspicious activity was seen please immediately call them.
