Intoxicated and high on drugs Thai man with knife removed from roofs on SOI Buakhao in Pattaya

Pattaya –
An intoxicated man with a knife has been removed from a roof this morning in Pattaya.

Pattaya City Police Deputy Chief Lt Col Korn Somkanae was notified of the incident at 4:00AM in Soi Buakhao.

Police, The Pattaya News and emergency responders arrived at the scene to find the Thai man, who was later identified as 55 year old Weera Poomsakha, on the second floor ledges above a 7 11 near LK Metro.

He was acting threatening to himself and others. It took about three hours for police to get him down in front of a crowd of about a hundred people. He fled several times across the rooftops and the city had to use a fire truck lift and several men to corner Mr. Poomsakha on a roof near a dentist.

Mr. Poomsakha attempted to fight the men who were bringing him down and had to be physically detained.

He was taken to the Pattaya City Police Station where he tested positive for drugs and alcohol intoxication. Marijuana was also found in his pocket.

He was erratic and did not explain why he climbed the roofs and fled from police.
