National Police Chief calls for justice in investigation of Chinese tourist strangling Thai woman in Pattaya


We were the first English news outlet to break the news that a Chinese national had allegedly strangled a Thai woman to death in Pattaya several days ago. Now, the National Police Chief has chimed in on the case as it dominates Thai media.

Chinese tourist strangles Thai woman to death in Pattaya


The National Police Chief of Thailand,  Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda has spoken to the media this morning and stated that the case is a top priority and that justice will be served.

He stated that great care and speed will be taken in this particular case.

He wanted to assure the Thai public, tourists, and investors that the case would be handled properly and that justice would be served.

The Chinese National involved remains in police custody. He allegedly confessed after leaving the woman’s body in his room for five days. He stated that he attempted to kill himself after the incident, however, he failed and confessed to the crime instead.

He stated he strangled her after a dispute on how long the woman would stay with him in his room in Pattaya. He admitted he picked the woman up on Walking Street in Pattaya for alleged sexual services.
