19 Chinese arrested in online gambling den raided in Pattaya

Police raided an online gambling den in Pattaya where 19 Chinese have been arrested last night in Nongprue.

The raid was led by Chonburi Provincial Police commander Maj Gen Nantachart Suppamongkon and Nongprue Police Chief Col Chitdaecha Songhong along with tourist police and immigration officers.

Officers have raided three rooms off a condominium in Soi Phra Prapanimit 6 at 11:30PM yesterday.

They arrested 19 Chinese nationals and seized more than 10 laptops and more than 300 mobile phones.

Maj Gen Nantachart said, “They have been hired from Chinese capitalists to do the online gambling. They have entered Thailand with tourist visas.”

“Each day there is 8 million baht money circulated from Thailand to China. They received 40,000 baht each for their salary per month.”

At this stage they have been charged with illegally working in Thailand. However, police are continuing their investigation.
