More heavy rain incoming for Pattaya, Tropical Storm Kajiki affecting area

“Tropical Storm KAJIKI category 3 ”

Tropical storm KAJIKI” is 80km northeast of Xekong, southern Laos or latitude 16.1 degrees north, longitude 107.2 degrees east.

With its maximum sustained winds of 65 km/hr, the storm was moving south-southwest slowly.

Thundershowers will be forecast over much of the country with heavy storms in some areas.

People should brace for the severe conditions that may cause flash floods and water runoff. Travelers should stay tuned for the weather updates.

Affected areas are as following:

3 September, heavy to very heavy rain. North: Phrae, Nan, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun

Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lamphu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen, Buriram, Surin, Sisaket and Ubon Ratchathani. Central: Ratchaburi, Kanchanaburi, Uthai Thani, Chai Nat, Nakhon Sawan, Lop Buri, Saraburi.

East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Chachoengsao, Sa Kaeo, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.

South: Phetchaburi province Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Ranong and Phang Nga

4 September, heavy rain. Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Udon Thani, Nong Khai, Bueng Kan, Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom, Mukdahan, Yasothon, Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Amnat Charoen and Ubon Ratchathani. East: Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. South: Ranong, Phang Nga and Phuket.

The monsoon trough lies across the North and the Northeast of the category 3 storm KAJIKI 80km northeast of Xekong, southern Laos, and the strong southwest monsoon continues across the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand.

Isolated heavy rains are forecast over the country. The strong wind will raise waves up to 2-3 meters high in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf and more than 3 meters high in thundershower areas.

All ships should proceed with caution. Small boats keep ashore. Red flags are up in Pattaya and swimmers should stay out of the water.
