Pattaya police announce increased security measurements following bombs in Bangkok Pattaya –

Pattaya police have confirmed that Pattaya is safe after they have increased security measurements following bombs in Bangkok yesterday, Friday, August 2nd, 2019. Last night Pattaya police set up checkpoints on Sukhumvit road in South Pattaya.

They checked every vehicle that goes through checkpoints. Lt Col Saranphong Maithongkunthorn of the Pattaya City Police says, “Following bombs in Bangkok, we want to make sure that people and tourists in Pattaya are safe.”

“We haven’t found any suspicious objects or people in the area. If anyone sees any suspicious thing, please call the police.”

The police were also ensuring that drivers were not intoxicated and had the proper license and identification to drive. The police stated to The Pattaya News that random checkpoints and random stops of suspicious people will continue over the next few days.
