Thai girl has bag with 30,000 baht and brand new Iphone X snatched on motorbike taxi by drive by thieves

At 2:00 AM on January 24th, 2019 Pattaya police responded to a call by a very shaken and distressed 29 year old Nipaporn Phunpha on Thappraya Road near Soi 2. She was waiting with a motorbike taxi driver who confirmed her story.

She stated that she was taking the taxi home when two men wearing full face helmets pulled up alongside them at a red light and ripped her pink handbag off her shoulder.

She stated that the bag contained 30,000 baht, a brand new Iphone X and many important documents such as her passport and Thai National ID Card. She was in tears and very distressed witnesses observed stating that all her important contacts were in her phone and that was the biggest loss.

The motorbike driver attempted to give chase but lost the thieves around Sukhimvit Road.  At that point he called the police to help the woman.

Pattaya police brought her to the local station and will be reviewing CCTV in the area. They will also try to track the phone through a locator app built into the phone by Apple.
