Pattaya-
We have previously discussed and reported on locals in Pattaya who have complained on handicapped areas of the road that people use for parking. In the past two years Pattaya City has reserved areas of certain roads in certain parts of the city, such as Soi Chang Pan, as handicap only. This is meant for people who are in wheelchairs and handicapped to be able to have an express way to get to and from in these villages.
Today August 16th 2018, around 3:00PM, several upset locals and individuals sent these pictures to us and other local media and have asked for City Officials to take action. As can clearly be seen in these shocking photos, local residents and expats have disregarded the Handicap walking and riding lanes and used them for parking.
Pattaya City officials responded quickly and said they would work on towing the vehicles in question. They also questioned if the individuals parking were confused tourists or expats who did not understand what the section of the road was for. They stated that they will provide regular inspection of the handicapped areas in Pattaya and tow the vehicles in question if they continue to park there. One suggestion was also to have offending drivers attend meetings with disabled residents to hear from them on how parking in their area affects their lives.
We will provide more news on this as we get it.
