Thai woman admits to stealing 60,000 baht from Australian national while visiting him as a “friend”

Pattaya-

The suspect was identified as Kanchanaporn Kruakham, 20, from Nakhon Sawan.

She told police that she had only Bt810 left as the rest was spent drinking with friends. Earlier this week, Albert Ayoubdel from Australia filed a complaint with Pattaya Police that a Thai woman stole 4,900 Australian dollars and US$700 from his room.

Kanchanaporn said she had exchanged the cash at an automatic machine on the Threp Prasit Road in southern Pattaya. She admitted that she had stolen the cash but claimed that she was going to pay it back to him and he had made statements that inferred that it was ok for her to do so. She also stated that she was visiting him only as they were “friends” at his condo and there was no funny business.

She gave a formal apology to the police and Mr. Ayoubdel for the issue. It is unclear if Mr. Ayoubdel will be pressing further charges or accepted her apology and repayment of the claimed 810 baht left.
