In the video below Thai authorities state that Pattaya Beach is about to become the Miami of Asia, with a comparable beach. Although this has been stated many, many times before this time agreements between Pattaya City Hall and the harbour masters office have led to the sourcing of a, quote, mountain of sand comparable to Miami Beach in late April after Songkran. Officials state all the equipment, supplies and people are ready and despite ten years of promises this time it will happen.
Local residents on social media remain suspicious.
