Pattaya-
Local darts player and darts associations were surprised to hear on February 2nd, 2018 that all darts leagues are to be suspended and dart boards to be taken down. The Pattaya Darts association says it has been told there is a new license that will need to be purchased by bars specifically for dart boards and dart leagues. This includes electronic dart boards, magnetic darts, etc.
However, at this time the darts license is not available. The Pattaya News can confirm that multiple area businesses have taken down their dart boards as a precaution, including the Retox group or suspended dart leagues at this time. Local dart players and the Dart Association of Thailand will be reaching out to City Hall to speak further clarification on this enforcement and when the license will be available as well as the cost.
Several days prior to this announcement The Pattaya News can confirm that the HK Darts Bar, located on Soi 6 in Pattaya, was raided by Thai law enforcement officials and multiple electronic dart games were confiscated and removed. They were also told they did not have a license for the machines (Even though one is not currently available) and as of this writing remains closed by law enforcement for license violations.
We here at The Pattaya News will provide followup when we have more information from City Hall and The Thailand Darts Association on this enforcement and license regulation regarding darts.
