Unseasonable surprise rainstorm causes flooding in Pattaya

Pattaya Rainstorm of January 10th, 2018.

The morning of January 10th, 2018 found many morning Pattaya commuters swimming as the city had a surprise out of season rain storm. To compound this, multiple weather forecasters are stating that it is likely to see temperatures drop this weekend as low as 17C which means that the blankets and cold weather jackets will be making another appearance just a few weeks after a surprise week long “cold” spell for Pattaya.

Pattaya city continues to struggle from regular flooding during rainstorms as the the rain water flows outwards to the ocean. Despite many attempts and a large amount of money spent to fix this problem, flooding continues. Luckily, today the flooding subsided in only about an hour and morning commuters were able to continue on their day.

Here are some photos, courtesy of Thai Visa and commuters on the scene. We here at The Pattaya News hope all our readers stay dry!
